Chef Rossano Giannini

Rossano Giannini is the Executive Chef and Owner of Lanterna Tuscan Bistro. Born in Lucca, Italy, Chef Giannini attended the Culinary Institute F. Martini in Montecantini Terme and perfected his culinary skills throughout the Toscana region. As a world traveler Chef Giannini brought the flavors of Tuscany to the unlikely locals of Egypt and Asia. While there his culinary skills wowed travelers, business people, and diplomats. As Chef Giannini's reputation grew, he traveled to New York City where he served as Chef to several Manhattan restaurants. Among these, Chef Giannini served as Executive Chef for one of New York City's finest Italian restaurants, "Torre di Pisa."

Chef Giannini has also founded the Federation of Italian Chefs of America. This organization is the first of it's kind. Linked to the Federazione Italiana Couchi based in Milano, Italy, the organization accommodates professional Chefs and Restaurateurs with the goal of networking, promoting, and evaluating the finest in Italian cooking.

In April 2000, Chef Giannini and his wife Maureen ventured out and opened their own restaurant, Lanterna Tuscan Bistro. Lanterna, is located in Nyack, New York, a quaint village on the Hudson River. It is an authentic Tuscan Bistro where Chef Giannini serves dishes which reflect both his culinary skills and Tuscan upbringing. In just a few months, Chef Giannini has already developed a following of clients who praise Lanterna for the distinctive food, authentic Italian wines, and cozy bistro atmosphere.

Lanterna offers a variety of homemade pastas, fresh fish and meat dishes, as well as homemade desserts. Lanterna is also home to Chef Giannini's "Culinary Events" which include cooking demonstrations, four course meals, and wine tastings, which have sparked great interest and praise in Rockland County and the surrounding areas.
